MVP for Terrific Tommy Z

March 14, 2013, Motorheads Vs. Wags
Three full lines and 5 defensemen provided one of the best games that I have seen in quite a while.  We managed to pull out a thrilling 6-6 tie.  Two weeks ago, we had a 6-1 lead that turned into a 6-6 tie.  After that game,  I told the guys, "This tie was like kissing your sister's date." Someone quickly replied, "That might be fun if your sister was gay." The tie against the Motorheads was like kissing a beautiful step sister.  Five minutes into the game, Felonious Fellenz gave Killer Kyle Sandowski a beautiful pass that he buried into the top shelf for

an early 1-0 lead that lasted only 2 minutes when the Motorheads resident goon tied the game with 8:15 left to play in Period one. He shall remain nameless because they didn't list him on the score sheet. Manno the Man got the lead back 5 minutes later with an assist from Betcha Blecha to give us a 2-1 lead going into the second stanza.  Hayes scored a power play goal that reduced Uncle Dan's 2 minute hooking penalty to 1 minute and 15 seconds. .  Their goon scored a minute later to put the Motorheads up 3-2.  Things looked bad when Blecha got 2 minutes for tripping at 12:24, but Killer Kyle and Mad Man Murzyn teamed up for a beautiful short handed goal on a pass from Killer in the corner right into Murzen's wheel house.  He one timed a blast past the startled goalie to tie the game again. Motorheads broke the tie a minute later, but Felonious Fellenz tied it 29 seconds later with an unassisted goal. Three minutes later, they took the lead with a short handed goal with 5:32 left in Period 2.  Their goon charged Jeff "Speed Racer" Lopatka, so Jeff felt obligated to rough him up a little.  They both got to sit for 2 minutes. With the clock ticking down to end the period, Gary "The Inhibiter" Hibler set up Sandowski's second goal with just 7 seconds left in the period.  Just 26 seconds into the third period, their idiot goon slammed Tommy Z into the boards with a cross check that got him a 2 and a 10.  Tom roughed him up enough to get 2 minutes, but Tom went on to negotiate a game misconduct for the goon in exchange for a misconduct for him that would have had him in the sin bin until the final 2 minutes, so TZ got the locker room key and got an early beer.  Two minutes later, Wampach

gave the Motorheads a 6-5 lead with 12:14 left in the game.  With TZ out having a beer, Jeff moved from  defense to Tom's wing and tied the game when he tapped in a pass from Biddinger.  Terrific Tommy Z was named MVP for getting rid of their hot shot goon. Ed "The Wall" Waghorn stopped 32 shots to protect the tie.

When I complained that I was still in my PJs (Above) when the Hawks went into overtime and that I had to get dressed for the 9:20 Wags game, I didn't get any sympathy.  Check out these 2001 game pictures when we beat the Joynt Brothers in more than one way.
