Our 44th Season

The Duffers will watch the Redwings play Boston on February 14 then we will play in the Joe Louis Arena on February 15, 2016. Total cost will be $245.00 for Bus, Redwing ticket, Tee shirt, ice rental, bus beer and snacks.  You and your roommate (s) pay the room cost.  $109 plus tax includes a free breakfast.

We no room for skaters but we have room for 3 spectators on the luxury bus.

Busy Weekend in Detroit

We have 3 full lines and 4 goalies who will go either way as needed.  I have 43 tickets to the Redwing/Boston game, so 3 tickets for spectators.  Bus leaves Yorktown on Saturday February 13 at 9:00 and returns Tuesday afternoon/evening February 16.

4 For Doc, 3 for Cupcake!

Romeoville, IL October 30, 2015  Attendance: 22
Eddie and the Reds 12, Whites 6. 
Eddie and the Reds were propelled to victory by 4 goals from Doc, 3 by Cupcake, 2 by Terry and 1 each by TZ, V-Man and Beak. Tommy Z had an 8 point night!.
The Whites got 2 goals from Steve the Hammer, Bill BTW, Berserk and Formica had one each.  Formica also set up Tom "T.O." O'Connor with a nice pass.

Memorable Moments:

  • · The Czar burned a lot of calories chasing TZ around.  He got the puck, then lost it and had a Klinger Krash.
  • · Vidas "Formica" Cemarka flew in from Seattle just to have fun with the Duffers.
  • · Terry had a Klinger Krash with the post.  (He is not eligible for the award)

Harvey is Back!

  • · Harvey made his 2015 season debut and was rewarded with love from Deana at the Kilt
  • · Deana was disappointed that Boris was gone for the season.  She couldn't believe he would leave Illinois and miss the most beautiful fall colors.  She said that she has friends that leave Florida and come here for the beautiful fall colors. 
  • · Ryan, our favorite Referee was back and did a great job posting goals on the scoreboard and keeping the peace. 
  • · Doc celebrated his 57th birthday (a day late) by scoring 4 goals on Barron, his Duffer twin. They were both born on October 29th as was Barron's son Chris.  
  • · Tommy Z had 8 assists plus an accidental goal that just missed Beak then hit the Commander and popped up and over Barron and then sank just below the crossbar and over the goal line. Tom could have had 4 more, but Beak hit the post and got robbed by the Barron 3 times before he finally scored on a onetimer.
    •

  • · Greg Z brought us Heineken beer.  Thank You.
  • · Dan the Birdman cleared his February schedule and gave Beak $100 for Detroit.

Friday the Thirteenth

For all you Triskaidekaphiliacs out there: (Bill Conti, Mike Cammalleri, Ray Ferraro, Valeri Bure, Bill Guerin and Jared Staal) it's Friday the 13th! Time to dance under ladders, walk on a crack, break some mirrors and pet your favorite black cat. I propose that you get off of the couch and help us get 2 lines.
If you are afflicted with Triskaidekaphobia, you better stay home this Friday. (from Greek tris meaning "3", kai meaning "and", dekameaning "10" and phobos meaning "fear" or "morbid fear") is fear of the number 13 and avoidance to use it; it is a superstition and related to the specific fear of the 13th person at the Last Supper being Judas, who betrayedJesus Christ and ultimately hanged himself. It is also a reason for the fear of Friday the 13th, called paraskevidekatriaphobia (from Παρασκευή Paraskevi, Greek for Friday) or friggatriskaidekaphobia (after Frigg, the Norse goddess after whom Friday is named in English).

  • My son Ken got 2 new knees on November 2.

Friday the 13th

  • Thor had good luck when The Anvil had bad luck and gave him the puck

  • V-Man and Cowboy Joe had good luck scoring 2 goals, but the goalies had bad luck

  • TZ had bad luck when he hit the post at the buzzer, but Eddie had good luck

  • Beak had bad luck when the waitress spilled French dressing on his lap

  • That turned into good luck after midnight on Saturday the 14th when the manager picked up his tab.  Beak's wife Carole, had bad luck washing his jeans 

 Moral of the evening:  Don't stay home on Friday the 13th next April, because someone's bad luck could be your good luck. It is like trading commodities, for every winner, there is a loser.

8/13/10 was good luck for Beak as he flipped a pass from behind the net and Brian knocked it in to his own net.  Bill BTW had Bad luck as T&A made him bleed and Tweedy took the loss.  Read More...

2/13/09 Eddie wins 8-3 with a 1-1 Meaningful tie. 
6/13/08 Eddie and Brian go Fishing.  We have 4 goalies and 5 sets of goalie pads.  Whites beat Jason 7-6
7/13/07 Tweedy tops the Anvil, 9-4.  4/13/07 No Ice
10/13/06 Eddie stops a ton of Granato shots, but falls to the Brain. Hat Trick for Brinks
1/13/06 The Anvil had another great game, only to lose when his son banks one in off of his back.
5/13/05 Geno scores with 7 seconds left in the game to give the Kid from Peoria a tie against Brian.
8/13/04 Anvil loses a shut out late, then loses the game to Brian as Beak got the game winner.
2/13/04 Three Oskroba goals (2 by Uncle Bob) give Tweedy a win over Brian BBTW becomes BBB for a while.
12/13/02 Beak scored an incest goal on his son Tweedy that was assisted by Klinger.  Brian Wins. Stump Scores. Tech Buzz is on Vacation.  (I'm glad we don't have that any more)
9/13/02 Cammi sets up her Dad and Beak, then scores another to give Brian a 6-2 win.

Greg and Jake finally caught up with the Cup at the Edge Rink.

Halloween was more fun than usual.

I see a cartoon coming from these pictures.

They were talking Putin, Hockey and politics.

Terry asked Doc and Dan about their attire.

Doc and Dan were careful not to wear the same outfits this week.

Formica and the Hammer scored half of the goals for the Whites.

Doc scored one third of the Red goals.
