Our Detroit Tee Shirts are bagged and boxed. They look great, Clubhouse Designs did a great job putting Monet Mike's art work on the shirts.

I have 3 boxes of tee shirts, a box for Friday Duffers, another one for the bus and a third for the fly ins. The Friday Duffers will play 3 games in 4 days!  My Doctor told me to drink wine instead of beer if I want to shed a few pounds.  The King is bringing a box of wine for us on the bus. Wine and pretzels should be good.

Berserk gave the following advice to a rookie that is making his first Duffer Road Trip: You need low key clothes. Bunch of sitting watch games, a couple of sets of under stuff for the games in your hockey bag. Your liver. A bunch of Ibuprofen. If you want something special to drink or eat on the bus or in your room. A good sense of humor. A swell hockey weekend. Realize we only have bus for transport.

 Detroit Details

We had 3 full lines and 2 goalies. but Drago's boss made him drop out. His ticket and seat are up for sale.  I have 41 tickets to the Redwing/Boston game. Klinger had to drop out, but we couldn't get the Anvil to join us, so Jeff has a friend that we hope is not too fast.   Bus leaves Yorktown on Saturday February 13 at 9:00 and returns Tuesday afternoon/evening February 16.  We have permission to leave cars in the lower level of the JC Penny's parking lot next to the Weston Hotel.

Speed Racer Throttles the Reds!

The Game:

The Anvil had to take a week off after his greatest game ever!  I think he may have called in sick because last week Mini Wheezer had him talked into playing goalie in the Joe Louis Arena after he downed the last shot of Crown Royal.  He went home and slept it off then called in sick.  The final score was Reds 3, Whites 8,

Red Goals: Steve the Hammer 

Barron slowed down Speed Racer Jeff by putting his goalie pads on.

Jeff took a long time getting dressed with the help of Barron.  He gave up an early goal to his brother Mike then shut down the Reds and only gave up 2 more goals as he gave the Whites an 8-3 win.
White goals came in pairs:  Joe Evans scored the first 2 goals.  His Brother in Law Bill BTW had 2 as did Bill Barron.  Solo goals came from Greg Z and V-man. T&A assisted on Joe's second goal in the 2nd and Barron's goal. Speed racer Jeff had a solid rookie goalie win.  He had four solid defenders in front of him that helped a lot. (Rags, BBTW, Terry, & V-man)
Red goals came from Monet Mike, Steve the Hammer and Brad the guest.  Magoo was back and his knee behaved well.  Grandpa Ken came out and had fun on the bench watching his sons and Granddaughter skate with the Duffers.  Beak didn't have Jeff passing to him, so he didn't get a shot on goal.  He did redirect a puck from the corner that fluttered toward the net, but the hardest thing Jeff had to do was stifle a laugh as he swatted it away. 

Detroit Itinerary

Saturday February 13: We leave Yorktown Shopping center at 9:00  Donny's USA U-17 Team plays Russia at 7:00ET. 
Sunday February 14: 10:30 Morning Duffer Game in the USA rink. .  3:00 Redwings play Bruins
Monday February 15: 11:00 AM, Duffer Game in the Joe Louis Arena,  USA U-17 Team plays USHL  Tuesday February 16:  9:00 Leave for home after our free Breakfast at the Lavonia Marriott. 

Drago is offering his Detroit ticket to the highest bidder.
