We had a great time in the Joe.  Tony played for the Reds and Redwing coach Andrew Brewer played for the Whites.  We met Tomas Holmstrom before the game and Power Play coach Jim Hiller got in the team picture.  When Tommy Z mentioned coach Reggie Dunlap from Slap Shot, Coach Hiller quickly quoted Paul Newman saying, "We're working on it."

On Saturday, we played an afternoon game then went to Ann Arbor to watch the USA U-17 team play Waterloo with Donny Granato.  Donny brought his U-18 team to the Edge in Bensenville for a game with the Steel on Saturday March 14th. He had 9 Duffers there cheering for him.

Duffer News

Family Feud Goes to the Reds

Romeoville, IL March 13th, 2015  Attendance: 26
Thanks to T&A for the following report from his son:
Reds. = 7 and the Whites = 5
Reds - Jeff 2. Monet Mike 1 Maestro 1 Rob Z. 1 Dan M 1 and Thomas 1 plus 2 assists for lil' t&a.
Whites - Commander Ken 2, TZ 2 with 3 assists and Doc 1. If Tommy Z scored two and the whites scored 5. He can only get 3 assists.

Friday the 13th turned out to be good luck for Eddie The Anvil

Tweedy might have picked up the win, but his nephews did him in with 2 goals by Speed Racer Jeff and one by Monet Mike.  He avoided suicide watch when his 75 year old Dad one timed a beautiful saucer pass from Jeff and just missed the right post.

We had Fun at the Edge

Beak later redirected a blast from Jeff and nailed the right post.
Bensenville, IL March 14th, 2015
Four Morgans, 2 Gregs, Koss and the King watched Donny G's USA team drop a thrilling overtime loss, 5-4

Detroit, MI March 6th, 2015
Thirty five Duffers and friends started the day with a great free breakfast at the Livonia Marriott then headed over to the Joe Louis Arena for the game of a lifetime that featured 2 goals by the 2 Joe Mazerallas and a Gordie Howe Hat trick.  After Rob Brill set up Beaks goal, Beak set up Coughenhaur's second goal he had to pick a fight with Mini Wheezer to complete the feat.  See the Friday 13 Duffer News for more on the game.  After the game, 30 guys lined up for a one person shower.  Tony gave us a tour of the Redwings locker room.  After the tour, we carried our bags a half mile back to the garage where we broke out a few beers and drank until we got too loud and were asked to leave on foot for Tommy's Bar and Grill that was just a quarter of a mile away, but you had to walk a mile and a half to get there.  We ate and drank there until we took the shuttle to the Wings/Flames game.  The Shuttle driver was crazy.  He left the bar and made a quick U-turn in front of oncoming traffic.  He floored it and up to a line of cars that were stopped in traffic. He swerved to the right and avoided a rear end accident.  He then pulled up to the "Joe " and dropped us off.  That was better than a thrill ride at Riverview.  (Google that)  The game was good for Flames fans, they came back from a 2 goal deficit to win.  I hope that Tony does not blame the Duffers.  He remembered that the Flames beat the Aves when we visited in Denver.  We visited the hot dog and beer stand that Julie (The lovely lady who got us the ice ) was serving.  She was very appreciative to have a drinking team  visit  her booth.  She said that her church got a cut of the cash.

Congratulations to Lil' Bill and t&a

They Helped Joliet Catholic win the Cougar Cup!

We had 9 Duffers. .

Lil' Tom is now bigger than Big Tom.  (It's gota be the skates.)

We watched Tony work his players out before our game.

Tony introduced us to Tomas Holmstrom before the game.

Tony warned Mini Wheezer about the Gordie Howe Hat trick before the game .

He told Mike that is anyone got a goal and an assist, that he would have a target on his chest.

This was the high scoring BBB line. 4 goals from Beak, Brill, Beavis

Jeff went down and scored after his grandpa needled him a little.

Father, son and grandson!

Beavis picks his nose as Rob Brill looks away.

We first took the team picture (Above) with Bill "Klinger" Giffune in the stands.  Tony noticed that and went up to get Bill in the picture. Below

After the game, we had 30 guys line up for a single shower stall.  After everyone was smelling better, Tony took us on a tour of the Redwing locker room.

Lopatka means shovel or blade.

Pavel is Rob's favorite player.

After the tour we had some beers in the parking lot.

When we got tossed from the parking lot, we went to Tommy's Bar.
