Brinks was Back with a Hat!

Romeoville, IL September 119, 2014  Attendance: 20
Birthday Joe scored two in his Return from the IR.

Whites got their first win of the year with the return of the Brain. Brinks took a week off and returned to midseason form with a hat trick. Doc's guest, Audubon Dan, also skipped a week and returned to maintain his 2 goals per game average. The game result was up for grabs until the Brain regained his shutout form.  He gave up 7 goals in the first 2 periods then shut out the Reds in the final period. Cowboy Joe returned after a year on the IR and scored 2 goals with an abracadabra left arm.  (He had a ligament from a cadaver inserted) Cowboy Joe and Speed Racer Jeff gave the Reds an early lead as Johnny B looked great in his Red jersey.  Brinks took a pass from Steve the Hammer and beat Johnny to cut the lead in half. Joe and Brinks traded goals and the Reds were up 3-2.

Cowboy Joe , Oldest Duffer SOD, celebrated his 59th Birthday with his son and a Duffer Happy Meal.

Doc Dubreuil's guest Dan the Bird man scored to tie the game.  Doc answered that goal when he flipped a beautiful back hand shot over the Brain. Tommy Z got busy and scored a pair to give the Whites a 5-4 lead. After that, Beak told his grandsons that they could score since TZ took the lead.  Jeff scored 2 goals and got the lead back for the Reds.  T&A then told The Hammer's son Matt (Ball Peen) to score and he tied the game.  The Czar scored late in the second period to give the Reds a 7-6 lead going onto the final stanza. The third period belonged to the winless Whites as they outscored the Reds 5-0 with goals by T&A, Dan the Guest, Blackhawk Ice Girl's husband, (V-Man's guest Jimbo*), Steve the Hammer and Brinks capped off his Hat trick with a one timer from Tommy Z.  TZ scored a goal that was disallowed in the final seconds.  He tried to hit Johnny B's goalie pads with a friendly shot, but he missed and it went in, so he said he was sorry and he tried real hard to look sad.
* Jimbo's goal was not confirmed, Duffer statistician, T&A, said that Matt had 2 goal.  If that is true, I have to
take

back all of the nice things that I said to him at Wild Wings.
The following Duffers have Perfect Attendance: Anvil, Johnny B, Skin Artist Mike, Speed Racer Jeff, T&A, Doc, Bill BTW, Beak, Czar, Tumblin Terry, Fruitcake Fred, Magoo and V-Man.
