Welcome to

Thanks to T&A for his game report. I remembered 20 of the 22 guys that scored the goals.  He filled in the blanks and added some assists.

Congratulations to Duffer SOD Ryan Dzingel who just signed a contract with the Ottawa Senators to play professional Hockey for their Binghamton Senators in the AHL.

He had 2 assists in his first 3 games, then he had a goal and a fight in his 5th game.  He missed the Gordie Hat Trick, because nobody scored on his passes.  They lost 2-1.  He got a goal and an assist on Saturday.

Wednesday's April 23rd lunch is at Roundheads.

A Bloody Bad Game!

Romeoville, IL April 18, 2014  Attendance: 19

Duffer History

Duffer History was made when Mandi, the 14 year old granddaughter of Brinks, set him up for a goal.  Mandi came over from the other rink, where she just finished playing 2 games.  She quickly scored a goal and then set up her grandpa and 2 other lucky Duffers.  Turncoat Terry also made Duffer History for the quickest fall, when he hit the ice on the opening face-off.  The game got crazier as the Whites popped in 7 first period goals.  The Crown Royal that T&A force fed on

Tony sent Brinks some new pants that got him 3  goals.

Johnny B was not working like it does for the Anvil.  Johnny sobered up in the second and held the Whites to 3 goals and gave his team a chance to mount a comeback.  The Reds got within 4 goals at 10-6, but the Whites scored 4 more and made the final score, Whites 14, Reds 8.  I can't remember all of the 22 goals, but with T&A's help, I have a pretty good scoring summary. The Whites got 4 goals from Stevie Wonder (The Hammer). Brinks had 3, BBTW scored 2 duck soup goals as did Commander Ken.  Greg Z and Mandi Granato each had one.  Joe Mazzarella III scored the 14th goal then he crashed and burned in the corner.  He stayed down as the final seconds clicked off of the clock.  The Reds got 2 Meaningful goals from Geno and 2 from Mini Wheezer.  One came when "Turncoat" Terry fired a shot that hit Mini Wheezer's skate then hit the left  post and went into the net.  Tommy Z had a Hat Trick.  One of Tommy's goals started out as a pass to Beak, but it went off of T&A's skate and went in.  Nobody could remember the 8th goal, so we gave it to the Maestro for taking a puck in the face.  It just missed his eye and gave him a cut that needed a 3 stitches in his eyelid.  His son left the game with him.  That is when Terry took off his white jersey and joined the Reds.  T&A spoke to the Maestro on Saturday, he plans on getting a shield for his helmet.

Memorable Moments

  • Terry went down on the opening face-off and gave Tommy Z a quality chance, but he was laughing.
  • Joe III scored on a breakaway for goal # 14 and then crashed into the boards. He also assisted on two of Steve's goals and one of BBTW goals. T&A had assists on both of Ken's goals. Tommy Z had assists on

Mini's 1st goal and both of Geno's goals.

Whites won the Meaningful score 3-2 (Brinks 3 & Geno 2)
The Wild Wing contest was a 1-1 tie as the waitresses were try

ing to buy T&A and Beak tequila shots.

Brinks and Beak saved the day with some unopened beers from Locker room #5.

I asked Tony for permission to post these new Penguin pants and gloves that Brinks was sporting.  He replied that Mario would be proud to have a Duffer wearing Penguin pants.

Tweedy told me to tell Tony that he should send a couple of dozen more and we could make Mario really proud.

Drago looks depressed after the Czar shot down the Florida Trip.

Stevie Wonder got 4 goals!
