If every time you see moonlight on a lake, you think of a dancing bear, and you sing gently, "Frommmm the land of sky-blue waters,".....you might live in Wisconsin.    Jeff Foxworthy

Everything you need to know about Comet PANSTARRS

The long wait is nearly over. Northern Hemisphere skygazers haven't seen a bright comet with a long tail since Comet Hale-Bopp graced the night sky in 1997. But if predictions hold, Comet PANSTARRS (C/2011 L4) should be a nice naked-eye object and look impressive through binoculars after sunset starting in the second week of March. Stay tuned to www.astronomy.com/panstarrs for complete coverage, including finder charts, observing tips, videos, photos, and more. Read more.

Anvil Breaks the Thor Curse!

Romeoville, IL
March 1, 2013

Attendance: 17

Romanian - Russian War Erupted.
The Anvil made a great save when Thor redirected a blast from Rags.  Beak skated over and told Eddie, "That save should end the Thor curse." Almost every shot that Thor took this season has found it's way into the net.  Just when The Anvil was feeling good about that, V-Man lit him up 4 times in the first 2 periods and started a new curse. He was assisted by t&a on 2 of those goals. Eddie skated over to the White team bench and let the Romanian have some Russian wisdom.  V-man looked ashamed and switched to playing defense for the rest of the game. He never shot again and even bought Eddie his favorite

T&A brought in a few more Enterprise Papers .

desert at Wild Wings, (A shot of Crown Royal) When Eddie refused to drink it, Thor downed it before Eddie could change his mind.  The T&A father-son combination scored the other 2 goals for the White team.  The Reds had a hard time solving the Brain who had Jen in the stands cheering him on.  Tom "TO" O'Connor beat the brain on the first shift when he redirected a pass from Nick the Prick right into the far corner.  That goal was a thing of beauty, but then T&A answered that goal and V-man worked his magic to give the Whites a big lead.  Beak told Nick to go get a few goals and get the Reds back in the game, but that didn't work. The best he could do was hit a post with a shot that went right to Mini Wheezer who fired the rebound off of the inside of the same post, but this time it went in. Tweedy was able to set up Magoo for another Meaningful Goal that gave the Reds and the Anvil a 2-0 Meaningful shutout.  T&A was voted MVP by the Senior Locker room guys for bringing Newspapers and beer for the thirsty Duffers.  Klinger and Brinks had a cooler bag full of beers, but they called in sick, so T&A picked up the beer from Brinks. Klinger will supply the senior locker room beer next week and Magoo took the Brinks bag to refill for the following week.
Whites 6, Reds 3; Reds 2, Whites 0 Meaningful.

Memorable Moments

  • Beak had his first fall since the Columbus trip.  No harm, no pain, just a lot of laughs as he was just talking to Thor.
  • Geno The Genie left his helmet at home and could not produce one by rubbing his magic lantern.

  • Klinger Krash happened while Terry and TO were trying to avoid a K.K.
  • Dylan Nance was called up from the practice squad to play left wing for the White Team.
  • Terry was talking about putting his autographed stick from Tweedy on EBAY.
  • The Brain autographed Danny's stick. Probably put a goalie voodoo curse on it.

The Anvil has a pensive moment after turning down a shot of Crown Royal that Thor downed immediately .

The Anvil needs more voodoo to stop a new curse.
