After a Week off, Goals Were Plentiful.
The Bookie talked his boss, Phil, into coming out and playing for the Red team. Phil said it has been 30 years since he last played.  Phil is Stump's boss too, so Stump dragged his butt out to see this momentous event and played on the White team that was loaded with Top Guns and Thor. Phil made it through 2 shifts then disappeared into the locker room. He returned after taping something up. The Whites blasted 4 goals past Rob, our back up goalie, who was doing the best he could.  Johnny B scored in the first 10 seconds,

Lepin Lu had some Duff Beer.

then Tommy Ambrosia (t&a) scored a minute later. Art made his long awaited return and made it 3-0  on his first shift!  Fruitcake joined in on the fun and scored the 4th goal 2 minutes later.  The Red team members calculated the Bobka factor and realized that they were now 19 goals behind, but T&A reminded us that the fine print of the Bobka Factor states that the Factor is only applied when Fred's team is behind, so the Reds were elated to find out that they were only chasing 4 and only down 1 meaningful goal.  There were 2 bottles of Crown Royal in the goalie locker room, so it is a good thing that the Anvil was away fixing another water main rupture or the Reds may have been down 8 goals before he sobered up.  The Reds finally got out of the zone and T&A woke up the Brain and spoiled his shut out with a beautiful rebound goal. Beak made it 4-2 on the next shift when Berserk, who started the game on the White team but decided that the Reds could use some help when the score was 4-0, fired an ice hugging pass to Klinger  who was parked at the left side of the net.  Klinger deflected the puck to Beak on the right side who one timed the puck into the net before the Brain could slide over.  That tied the Meaningful score. Nick scored to make it 4-3, but Terry answered that goal to give the Whites a 2 goal lead again.  Bill BTW scored and made it 5-4, but Lil' Bill finally took a shot after his Dad ticked him off and restored the 2 goal lead. Nick scored again and cut the lead to 6-5, but then Thor finally converted one of the many passes that the teen phenoms were giving him and that gave the Whites a 2-1 meaningful lead. Nick picked up his hat trick and made it 8-6, but Johnny B scored his second goal to ice the game for the Whites.  Whites 9, Reds 6

Memorable Moment
Rob was sipping on a bottle of Heineken thanks to Klinger, when a guy from a men's league tried to talk Rob into playing a Men's League game. He promised him free beer, but he almost blew the negotiations when he said the beer was Bud Lite.  Rob told the guy that he is really just a floor hockey goalie, but he loves to play. He finished the beer and played the men's league game.

Only half of these guys came back this week.

Leapin Lu sent us this picture of him with a bottle of Duff beer. I couldn't decide if I should put Lu's head on Homer's body or Homer's head on Lu's body, so I took an e-mail survey and the survey said, "Lu's head would look great on Homer's body.  Lu and Darrin are making plans to come here and play some hockey.
