Goal Tending Ruled the Night!

Romeoville, IL
December 2, 2011

Attendance: 22

The Brain owned Period one!
Steve "Rembrandt" Granato did all of the damage to the Anvil in period one.  He sailed a low shot that hit one of the Anvil's helpers in the skate and it changed direction and found the back of the net. (That skate belonged to Klinger) Rembrandt scored again on a low shot from the point to give the Whites an early lead.  The Brain was perfect until Tommy Z finally dented the net midway through the second period.  TZ tied the score late in the period while the Anvil was kicking everything

A pair of pairs share some beers. TZ had 2 goals on Friday and Drago had 2 on Thanksgiving

out.  The Anvil carried his scoreless streak until V-Man "The Villain Man" poked the winning goal past him in the closing minutes. The Brain was perfect in the first and Third, while the Anvil was perfect from the 8 minute mark in the first until the final minute.

Memorable Moments

  • The Maestro gave his son Lil' Bill a lesson about speeding when he tried to blow past him.  Lil Bill did a triple flip and stuck the landing.
  • Guest Greg Z almost scored several times and he set up his friend Berserk with a great pass from the left wing.  Chris one timed it, but he was robbed by the Brain.  Greg later did an impression of the original Wheezer late in the game when he was gasping for air.  Veteran Duffers know that Wheezer got his nickname after his first shift  with the Duffers.  Beak asked him what his name was and he was wheezing so bad, he couldn't answer.
  • Greg Z also had an Alien sighting when Bill appeared out of outer space and ran into him.  Last week, he had a collision with Klinger.

Nobody is Perfect! (As Basketball Jones used to say)

Fred "Fruitcake" Bobka failed to show up Friday, so no one will win the Perfect Attendance Award this year.

V-Man as in Villain scored the game winner in the closing minites.

Tweedy's 4 year old son, Luke,  made his first trip around the rink. Video is posted on Beak's Facebook page.
