 "Another Trip Around the Sun"

By Jimmy Buffett

(Sorry, the music won't play on a Mac)

Lunch is at Roundheads at 63rd and Woodward in Downers Grove on Wednesday at 1:00

We had high hopes in the 1990s when the Czar put this together.

HARVEYMOON.JPG (101442 bytes)

On more than one road trip, Harvey was left behind in the locker room as the Bus pulled out without him. He was high maintenance. Harvey used to have a tackle box full of sweet smelling junk and cans of hair spray for all conditions, He also had a heavy duty hair dryer that blew the main fuse at Saint's Spectrum. He blamed that on faulty wiring, but when he blew out the lights of the Peoria Civic Center, we told him to leave that hair dryer home.

A Tribute to Harvey

Harvey loves to read a hard copy of the Duffer News.

Boris used to have a powerful hair dryer like Harvey.  If they plugged them in at the same time, we were in the dark!

Harvey Scores Again!

Romeoville, IL
November 30, 2012

Attendance: 21

Tweedy and Tommy turn Tricks!
We finally had enough guys to play 5 on 5 with 2 lines! Drago finally cooled off by staying home, but Harvey kept his scoring streak alive when he skated in all alone on the left side and gave Brian a brain freeze when he cut across the slot and flipped a backhander into the corner. That gave the Reds a 1-0 lead. Tweedy made it 2-0 when he slid a soft one past Brian but Tommy Z slipped a couple of soft ones past the Anvil to tie the game. The

Beak tells Eddie what a fine game he played, then The Anvil tells him he is full of **it.

Reds took a 3-2 lead when Beak fired a pass to his son Tweedy who redirected it into the net so quickly that several guys thought Beak had scored. TZ tied it late in the second period when he got an assist from Kevin "Meat" Rench, Tommy swore that he didn't mean to score, but he did. Nick the Prick made it 4-3 with an assist from T&A. Beak told Tweedy that since Tommy had a hat trick, he was allowed to match it, so he did and gave the Reds that dreaded 2 goal lead. Brinks made it 5-4 when he fired a shot that was deflected into a fluttering floater that Eddie lunged at and missed, then he swiped at it as it floated into the net. The Anvil just laughed with his teammates. A few minutes later, Greg Z demonstrated why a 2 goal lead is dreaded. Greg fired a low ice hugger that Eddie kicked up and into the top shelf. A tie is often compared to kissing your sister. When you are down 2 and get a tie, your sister looks like Cinderella, when you blow a 2 goal lead, you get to kiss the ugly step sister.

Memorable Moments

  • Anvil made a game saving save on Bill BTW at the buzzer.
  • Greg Z had a comedy act break away that went bad. He got the Anvil and everyone laughing.

Memorable Moments are continued on Page 2

Memorable Moments Continued

  • Klinger failed to have a memorable Klinger Krash and he foiled Beak several times.
  • Terry had a Klinger Krash followed by a javelin stick toss that woke up the guys on the Red bench .
  • Beak had a lot of set ups while playing with Tweedy. He fouled off a few, hit a few skates, and hit the Brain a few times. His timing was better at the bar, when He offered to pick up Dan's check, but Tweedy had just paid. Beak displayed his best disappointed look with a crooked smile.
  • Nick the prick made some passes, he is starting to get it.
  • Fred almost put the Whites up by 36, but the Anvil saved the day with a blocker save.
  • We had a big turn out at Wild Wings! We filled 8 tables.
  • Brinks kept his "beer bringing" perfect attendance record alive.
  • Beak added to his Wild Wings perfect attendance streak that goes back to last fall when he went to watch Ryan Dzingel Play at Notre Dame.
  • Ryan scored the game winner at Michigan State in Friday's 1-0 win. He then added 2 assists in Saturday's 3-1 win.
  • Neutral Zone was closed last week, so the Duffer Lunch crowd found a better place that had a great buffet and beer specials.  That will be our lunch place of choice in the future, except when we go to the Tilted Kilt on the last Wednesday of the month.

We have a new lunch place,  The Neutral Zone is closed until further notice.  We went to Roundheads.  Thanks to cell phones, we were able to have a quintet for lunch.  (Location A on the Map) Roundheads supplied us with food when we had "Bowling for Panties".
