4 Goals for Harvey, 81 for Bobka!

Romeoville, IL
November 23, 2012

Attendance: 17

Four For Harvey in a Four on Four Game!
The Reds won the Meaningful game 5-4  Harvey scored early and often!  Drago, A.K.A. Face Plant continued his hot streak by slipping one past the Anvil. The Whites started to pile on the Anvil with 3 goals by Berserk, 2 by Greg Z, and solos by Cowboy Joe and the Czar. Berserk offered to put on a Red shirt at the start of the 2nd period when the Whites were running away with the game. He was told that they didn't need his charity, so he went out and blew a turn around slap shot past a pissed off Anvil. Eddie said, "I haven't seen a shot like that since Grandpa Kenny

These two had the longest ride home, but they showed up at the bar!

Lopatka was playing." BBTW said, "Who turned down that trade?" The Reds only had one goal in the first period and that was by Johnny B.
Beak
started the Reds comeback when He hit Jimmy Bones in the chest with a spinner that crawled up and over his shoulder and rolled down his back.  The Puck came to rest  just over the goal line. Beak then set up goals for Bill BTW and Crash Nance. The Reds were on a roll! Johnny B scored again and then Minni Wheezer added one to make the score 11-8.  Then it happened, Fred "Fruitcake" Bobka rang up the  pipe in the upper left hand corner.  The puck caromed into the net for the 9th Red goal!  When the Bobka Factor was calculated, the Reds won 89 to 11! (9x9 = 81 plus 8 = 89)

Only 17 guys showed up to play hockey. Reds had 8 skaters and the Whites had 7. After the game we were even more embarrassed as we got a table for 6 at Wild Wings. Greg Z pulled over 2 more tables figuring we would have at least 12 guys for our post game holiday celebration. Only 6 guys showed up. Hats off to Greg Z, Klinger, Drago, Berserk, Beak and Mini Wheezer. These guys skated Thursday and Friday and had enough in the tank to come out for a beer.

Memorable Moments

  • Harvey made Duffer History with his 4 goals
  • Drago scored again and lived up to his scoring machine title.
  • MVP Brinks was gone, but still brought us beer!  Thanks Don!
  • Fred and the Anvil had a Klinger Krash in warm-ups. (Anvil 1, Fruitcake 0)
  • I can't believe that Black Friday took it's toll on our attendance.
  • We had 3 Final Scores: Reds 5, Whites 4, (Fred had the second Meaningful goal that was squared to get 4,  then added to Beak's goal), Whites 11, Reds 9 (Meaningless) and when the Bobka Factor was calculated, the Reds won 89 to 11. Eleven may be reduced when the "Tainted goals" are factored in.  The first goal was tainted, but the square root of 1 is 1. We don't have the data to calculate the other 10 goals. (I miss T&A)  Klinger claimed he was only on the ice for 1 goal against.
  • We had 3 goalies in the lobby before game time. When Brian saw Mini Wheezer, He volunteered to go home and play video hockey because it is cheaper and less painful.
  • Mini Wheezer played Thursday and Friday and had a goal in each game.
  • Beak has perfect attendance at Wild Wings.
  • Brinks beer has perfect attendance.

We have a new lunch place,  The Neutral Zone is closed until further notice.  We went to Roundheads.  Thanks to cell phones, we were able to have a quintet for lunch.  (Location A on the Map) Roundheads supplied us with food when we had "Bowling for Panties".

After scoring 4 goals, Harvey was too tired to celebrate at the bar.

These guys still managed to go to BWW.

Klinger was tired, but he is never too tired for beer and food.

Mini Wheezer was looking forward to some sleep.

Greg Z sent this 1982 Atari game. I didn't know Berserk had a Trade Mark.

You know Christmas is coming when the Christmas Cactus blooms.

(Above)  Harvey may have been helped to 4 goals by visions of Jurata dancing in his head.
