"TO" Gets a Hat Trick!

Romeoville, IL
December 16, 2011

Attendance: 25

The Geno got the Reds Going!
Geno jumped on the ice for his first shift and promptly set up Tom "TO" O'Connor to give the Reds an early lead.  Before finishing his shift, he assisted on Mini Wheezer's goal. Lil' Bill Conti got that one back quickly by undressing Nick the Prick who had a rare moment where he was back playing defense.  Bill roofed a beautiful shot over the Anvil's shoulder to cut the Red lead to 2-1. Tom "TO" O'Connor scored in the second period when he tapped in a 2 footer for an easy putt.  The Czar made a rush at the Anvil, then jammed on the brakes and flipped another

roofer past Eddie. That made it 3-2. Mike showed his soft side when Beak had a brush with Klinger and suffered his first fall since 2010.  Mike helped him to his feet while play continued. Beak thanked him and promised not to slash him for a while. Tommy Z made it 4-2 when he rushed the left side of the net while looking to pass to an open old guy, the Brain slid over and took away the pass and left TZ with no choice.  Tommy roofed a backhander that shot Brian's towel off of the net.  To give the Reds a 5-2 lead.  Greg "Circus" Zirkis scored his first Duffer goal and cut the lead to that dreaded 2 goal difference.  Beak presented him with the game puck at Wild Wings where Mr. Clean and V-Man were conspicuous by their absence. There were all sorts of rumors about where they may have gone. TO picked up his Hat Trick shortly after that, but the Czar scored another spectacular goal where he one handed one past the Anvil.  Magoo's sonar picked up the signal of a puck and an open net, so he whacked it in just before Nick could hit it in and spoil a Meaningless goal. Lil' Bill walked Nick again to make the final score  Reds 6, Whites 5.

Memorable Moments

  • Nick the Prick, who my wife said looks like a young Hanson brother, served notice that he does not want to play defense. His Dad will have to have a talk with him.
  • Bill BTW was stoned several times by the Anvil on breakaways.

Beak presented Greg Z with the puck that was used to score his first Duffer goal.

E-Mail from Texas:

This puck is a relic from many years ago, when the King was gone and Friedlander talked us into new jerseys with new logos

Klinger had debris land in his hair at Wild Wings.  We know it was not Hacksaw or V-Man because they never made it to Wild Wings.

5 years ago, Klinger was trying to watch a hockey game in Buffalo New York, when some young punk put a straw in his hair.

Fast forward 4 years Klinger is again watching a hockey game in Nashville, when peanut shells landed in his hair.

Lee Ann tells me that Monica's friend has volunteered to fill the goalie vacancy and she is doing great.  I'll give you her nickname in the locker room.

Tweedy's 4 year old son, Luke,  made his first trip around the rink. Video is posted on Beak's Facebook page.
