18 Goals, 4 goals for Terry!

Romeoville, IL 04/11/2008
Attendance 26

After the last 2 weeks of having only 9 or 10 guys on a side, Beak decided to do something to help his aching bones.  He got his grandson, Jeff, to come and help out.  He told Jeff that he would pay for his hockey if Jeff would play left wing and take 2 shifts for every one that he takes.  As it turned out, there were 3 sets of wingers, so Jeff played center, where he helped the Reds from getting blown away.  Duffer history was made when a player got his first, second, third and fourth goals all on one night.  Terry, had never had a goal in the 3 months that he has been playing and in that time, he has had many falls.  In one night, he went from "Terrible Terry", to "Terry the Terror"!  The game was wide open, with Tweedy stealing the puck and flipping it past the Anvil for a quick lead in the first minute of play.

10 cents a can?

Perry "The Flea", returned from his 3 weeks in Texas to make it 2-0 Jeff got one back to keep it close, but Terry popped in a pair to put the Whites up 4-1.  Tommy Z cut the lead to 2 with a goal, but Terry picked up his Hat Trick and make it 5-2.  Jeff scored to make the score 5-3 just before period ended.  The Whites added 2 more quick goals to start the 2nd period, as Thor and Johnny Z got on the board.  Geno, and Tommy answered those to make it 7-5, but The Terror scored his 4th goal!  To make it 8-5.  Jeff added 2 more and Tommy Z knotted it at 8-8 with 8 minutes left to play in the second period.  If this was election night, the networks would have called it a projected 16-16 tie.  Fortunately, things settled down and both goalies stopped everything except for lone goals by Back Hand Johnny and Jeff (His 5th).  The final score was Reds 9, Whites 9 and a 1-1 Meaningful tie.  There was a strong bid made for the Klinger Krash Award, when Scott "The Bookie" hit the boards with a Mini Wheezer like force right in front of the Maestro, who flipped and did a hand stand.  The deafening crash brought action to a halt for a moment, until it was evident that everyone was OK.  By the Way Bill has not been seen since he got into that Red Cadillac in Phoenix.  Could it be that his wife has him on the "Papa Joe Point system"?  He may have used up all of his points going to Phoenix.

Mini Wheezer took MVP honors last week, when he delivered the beer to locker room 9, while Brinks was in Florida.  The Bookie took care of locker room 11 to qualify for Co-MVP.  Click Here to see the Duffer 2008 Stats

401 Keg!

If you had purchased $1,000.00 of Delta Air Lines stock one year ago you would have $49.00 left.  With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1,000.00.  With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left.  But, if you had purchased

$1,000.00 worth of beer, one year ago, drank all of the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have had $214.00.  Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

Bowling anyone?

My Granddaughter's Softball team is having a Bowling party on May 10.  $25.00 per person.

401 Keg? Need more proof?
