Klinger and Knarf Hammer "The Anvil"!

Hitman, Alien and Harvey scored  goals for the Blues to give them a seemingly insurmountable meaningful lead as only Thor could get one past the Anvil for the Whites.  Those 3 meaningful goals added to Roger Dodger’s 2 meaningless goals gave the Blues a 5-4 lead.  Ken Lopatka had 3 for the Whites.
Frank, the ultimate stay at home defenseman, shocked every one with a wrist shot from the Blue line that missed everything but the lower left corner to tie the meaningless score at 5 and pulled the Whites to within one of a meaningful tie.  With 1 minute to play, Frank retired to the locker room, never dreaming that his defensive partner, Bill “Klinger” Giffune would score.  Bill rushed the net and hammered a rebound past Eddie to give the Whites and the Ghost a 6-5 Meaningless win.
Koss had a new name for Beak, when he was toppled twice and stripped of the puck.  Beak dropped him like a tree and was called Chainsaw.  What a sharp line, Hacksaw, Chainsaw and Thor.

Letter to the Editor.

Does anybody really read the duffer news? nov. 10 headlines brinks hammers the anvil. false info , the anvil actually went white that week . anvil was on brinks team. this is a travesty of justice, i demand a recount.  gentlemen dont you proof read your rag before you print it. i expect a public appology. i get hammered enough with koss's help let alone the press. try writting the news sober. no wonder so many kids fail in beaks class hes grading with the wrong answer sheet. until next week.
Eddie The Anvil

Editor's reply to “False Headlines.”

Headlines are designed to grab the reader's attention.  The article gives the details to those readers who care enough to read on.  The original headline was "Brinks hammers the Ghost", but that congers an image of nothing happening. Did you ever see a ghost get hit by a hammer?
N0, so we went with the Hammer and the Anvil, you know, the immovable object meets the irresistible force.  Hoping nobody would notice and nobody did.
We did grant you a recount and the results were overturned.  The original score was Blues 3, Whites 3.  After the recount, it was Whites 3 and Blues 3. *
Duffer Editor.

*Eddie is a little touchy ever since Beak accused him of cheating on the
Flintstone test.

Frank and Beernuts sandwich Rivermen Coach Jason Christie Frank, Beak and Beernuts chase a hot wings sandwich with some home brew.

Beernuts tries to get a story out of former St. Louis Blues star, Bob Plager. Beak gets Plager's quote on why players didn't get concussions in the old days. "We got them, but we thought they were hang overs."
