I rented a car and drove down the most beautiful highway in the USA. |
It was raining and gloomy when I started down Highway #1, but the clouds soon lifted and I had sunshine for the rest of my stay. |

These chunks of ice broke off of the Portage Glacier. |
The ice was gone when I stopped back 2 days later. |
I stopped at Portage where I had lunch and bought some picture post cards. |
The Visitor's Center closed for the winter on September 30th. |

I stopped to see Exit Glacier before I got to Seward. |
It was just beautiful! |
