Shut Out for The Brain!

Brinks Scores 2 More!

Brinks took a pass from Mike "Rich Storm" Presecki that sent him in on a clean break away.  Brinks faked to his left, then tucked the puck past the sprawling Anvil to start the scoring midway through the first period.  A few minutes later, he scored again when his cousin Steve "Rembrandt" Granato fired a centering pass that ricocheted off of his skate and found the corner of the net.  The Anvil had no chance to

stop that goal.  Last week the Brain had a shut out going into the 2nd period with a 2 goal lead, but he lost that and the game, so a 2 goal lead was not a big concern to the high powered Reds.  Tom "T&A" Ambrosia made it 3-0 in the second period while the Brain was stopping everything the Reds could throw at him.  Harvey made his return and almost beat the Brain with his first shot that rattled between Brian's skates but came to rest just short of the goal line.  Tommy 'Dimples" Zagorski fired a shot that bounced off of the Brain's Brain.  Brian later gloved a Bill BTW's shot that saved his face mask.  Beak fired a shot through a crowd that Brian was screened on, but the shot just missed the top left corner.  He robed Bill the Maestro" Conti on a break away.  Art iced the win with a coast to coast rush.  With the clock ticking down Art beat Magoo to a loose puck and did a turn around slap shot that sent the puck all the way down the other goal line.  No icing was called and the tainted shut out was preserved.  We were disappointed when the Brain failed to show up at Wild Wings to celebrate his historic event.  Here is a quote from Ten years ago:

"The Ghost had a shut out going for 3 periods when Beavis finally found a hole and ruined it. Hitman beat Tweedy in the final minute of the third period with a beautiful Viagra shot, to give the Reds a 1-0 meaningful win and a 3-1 meaningless win."  The Anvil had his second Duffer Shut Out on April 3, 2004 see page 2

ticketed for the top shelf.  Eddie got some help from Uncle Bob, when he slid in front of Ben's slap shot and blocked it out of the Zone.  Ben later said, "My Dad didn't mean to do that, He just fell down in front of my shot." The Anvil recorded his second Shut out this year!  I searched the Duffer history page and I could only find one other shut out in Duffer History.  Tweedy had a

The joy that Tweedy felt when he got the call from Stump, the goalie in chief, didn't last too long, because Uncle Bob made a rink long rush up ice, where he was stripped of the puck twice by Klinger and twice by Rich Storm, yet he somehow was able to get a shot off that Tweedy saved, but didn't cover.  You guessed it, UB poked it in.  Things didn't improve any as he made a save on a Stump shot that he steered over to Klinger, his trusty defenseman, Klinger flipped it past Tweedy to give the Reds a 2-0 lead.  Buckshot Morgan scored a legitimate goal in the second period to put the Reds up by 3.  Things only went down hill from there as He was knocked into the net by an out of control Mini Wheezer.  Mini claimed that Klinger was responsible for making him crash.  Who can argue with that excuse?  Super Dave finished Tweedy

Summer Shut out in 1992.  I was sure that Stump had one, but he could not remember any.  The following Duffers had a great time at Papa's Cast Party:  Beak, Nick "The Hammer", Magoo, Slime Dog, Blue Ball Bill, Buckshot and Butt Head.  Thanks to BB Bill's Mother in Law for hosting the elegant party.  The Flea was right, Papa Joe was the star of a very entertaining musical show!

off in the closing minutes with an unbelievable tip in, to put the Reds up 4-0!
I almost forgot to mention, while all of this was happening to Tweedy, the Anvil was quietly kicking out all of the White's shots.  He even made a save on his own stellar defensemen, Perry The Flea.  His best save came when he gloved a Ben Oskroba shot that was

Eddie shows his double zero tattoo to Perry and Stump.  Perry is easily impressed.

Unfortunately we didn't have anybody celebrating Brian's Shut out at Wild Wings, so I had to go with File Photos of our last Duffer Shut Out.
