Low Scoring Game turns into a Shoot out!

The Brain and the Anvil were locked in a low scoring duel.  The Reds only had one goal in 2 periods and the Whites managed to push 3 past the Anvil.  The game started with 11 Red skaters while the Whites only had 9, so Rich Storm traded Beak to balance off the sides.  Art got the Whites off to an early lead when he threaded a shot through the crowd for a 1-0 lead.  Brinks made it 2-0 when he one timed a pass from Magoo.  That was the only scoring in the first period.  The Reds finally got on the board in the second, when Tom "TO" O'Con

The Bookie missed his first game, it is hard to hold a hockey stick.

nor set up the Maestro, who flipped a shot into the top shelf.  Hacksaw tapped in a rebound to close out the second period scoring.  Then it happened, Mini Wheezer blew one past the Brain and a Duffer one period scoring record was about to be set with 6 more goals!  Bill BTW got over his lost towel and pumped in a pair.  Jeff finally scored as the Brain was standing on his Brain for 2 periods.  Special Ed joined in on the fun.  Stump even jumped on the wounded Brain with a goal!  The Whites tried to keep up with the scoring explosion with 3rd period goals by Art, Tommy and Rich Storm, but The Anvil hung on for an 8-6 Meaningless win.  The Brain got some consolation with a 2-0 Meaningful shutout.  Fruitcake almost ruined that when he walked in and flubbed a shot that would have made the score 49 to 6 with the Bobka Factor.
And Then There Were 2 (same bionic pair as last year)
The Bookie spoiled his perfect attendance.  He had a good excuse, someone broke his thumbs!  See the picture above.  Stump and Beak are the only ones left in the running for the "Tim Smith Perfect Attendance Award".  We never kept track of this statistic until Tim Smith made us aware that he never missed a game in 2005-06.  The following entry is from the Duffer History page:
May 26, 2006; Last game of our 35th season!  Newcomer Tim "Basketball Jones" Smith completed his first Duffer season with perfect attendance.  Tim was responsible for bringing Bill Conti out.  Bill turned out to be one of our most reliable guests.  His Nick Name is in the works.  He could be called Roids, after BALCO founder Victor Conte, or The Maestro" Why? Bill Conti is the musical conductor/director that wrote the themes to The Right Stuff, Rocky, Dynasty, and Falcon Crest.  (Only Tim would know all of that, He was a frequent contributor to the Duffer History page.)  Digital

Dan started taking attendance in the 70s, but the King made him stop for reasons that can only be given in the sanctity of the locker room.
