Donny G Ends His Slump!

Romeoville, IL 12/04/09     Poor Turn Out with Lots of Fun!
Attendance 21

The teams looked pretty even at the start of the game and after the first period, it looked like the Reds had a slight edge.  Mini Wheezer fired a rebound past the Brain for an early lead.  Bill BTW gave the Reds a 2-0 lead with a powerful low wrist shot.  Tommy Z took a rare shot that fooled The Anvil, but Little Mikey Presecky gave the Reds a 3-1 lead to close out the first period.  The "Tommy Gun Line" teamed up for a beautiful goal when T&A fired a pass through the Cone (I didn't think you could pass through a cone, but he did and big number 33, Tom O'Connor one timed it past the Brain for a 4-1 lead.

#1 and #2 Stars of the Game

Then a strange thing happened, Donny G must have heard the locker room whispers about his lack of scoring ability.  He quickly scored a pair to make it 4-3, then Dave the former goalie tied it at 4.  With the clock winding down in the second period, the Reds just missed taking the lead when the Brain robbed Big Rags with 11 seconds left in the period.  Donny G raced up ice, put the Anvil down then put a back hander into the top shelf while the buzzer was sounding.  The War room reviewed it and the Whites were awarded a 5-4 lead after 2 periods.  That goal deflated the Reds and lifted the Whites who went on to add 2 more goals by TZ and Donny, who was awarded his 4th goal after a review of a shot that went off of T&A's skate.  V-Man was almost awarded the goal, but he failed to go to Wild Wings so the goal went to Donny G.  Bill BTW was credited with another goal when he bounced a pass off of Frank's skate.  The final score was Whites 7, Reds 5.

The Anvil picked up the Meaningful win 1-0  The Mike Presecky goal may have been scored by Tom Ambrosia, because I had conflicting reports.  Thanks to all of the e-mail help today that made this semi true story possible.  T&A had a crash that will put him in the running for the 2010 Kling Krash Award.
Game Perfect Attendance  is down to 2
Mini Wheezer and Fruitcake are the lone survivors.  Beak Stands alone as the only Duffer with Perfect

Attendance at Wild Wings.

When the Bookie tipped one past his own goalie, there was speculation that He had to cover a lot of bets on a Red win.

I had to run some file photos since I left my camera at home.  I missed one of the best pictures of all time when Terry's kids were sleeping on the cold metal bleacher benches during the game.
