Deuces Are Wild Again!

Romeoville, IL 10/02/09                      The Polar Bears Win at Wild Wings again
Attendance 20
For the 2nd straight week, 4 different Duffers scored a pair of goals
Thanks to Tom "T&A" Ambrosia for the following e-mail:
White Goals: Nick 3, Bookie 2 (Game tying assist to T&A), Terry 1, and Meaningless T&A 1.

Red Goals: Charlie 2, Mini 2 ( his second goal made the Bookie and Tweety look like Duck Soup), Ken 1, V-man 1, and Dave 1 (with an assist to the Bookie, too bad they were on different teams)  Whites were victorious at BWW!
(White Goalie showed up again to tip the scale)

No meaningful goals, we need Tommy back for his precision passing.

Congratulations to Tom O'Connor, who was awarded Duffer Jersey #33.  We could start calling him Big Buff!

We only had 9 skaters on each team, so the defensemen had to rotate 3.  Nick and his friend Charlie set a fast pace for the game.  They off set each other and kept the game close.

The game was tied at 2 at the end of the first period with goals by Nick, Terry, Charlie and Dave the Goalie who hasn't played goalie in this calendar year.  The Whites took a 5-4 lead into the third period with 2 goals by Nick and one by T&A.  The Red goals came from Grandpa Ken, and V-Man.  Charlie tied the score with his 2nd goal, then Mini Wheezer scored twice to give the Reds a 2 goal lead late in the game.  It looked like the Reds would have there first win of the season, but with 5:34 on the clock, the Bookie fired a low, slow ice hugger from the point that found a path through a crowd to make the score 7-6.  Less than 2 minutes later, the Bookie struck again to lift the Whites to a 7-7 come from behind tie.

The Grandpa Ken Action Figure

Tom "T-O" O'Connor gets Number 33

No one on the Sox has #33, The Cubs' Esmailin Caridad has that number as does Peanuts Tillman of the Bears and Big Buff has big number 33 for the Hawks.  I think we should call him Big Buff.

8 Duffers have Perfect Attendance after 4 weeks

The following Duffers have Perfect Attendance: Beak, Bookie, Fruitcake, Hacksaw, Magoo, Mini Wheezer, T&A and V-Man.
