Brandy, You're a Fine Girl!

Romeoville, IL 09/18/09                        Goalies Shut Down the Scoring
Attendance 13

Attendance was so bad that we had to recruit Brandy, a 98 pound 4 foot 6 inch female goalie, from the Rampage Hockey Organization and we had to skate 4 on 4.  The White team didn't even have enough guys to do that.  They had to fly in Vidas "Formica" Cemarka from Seattle, just to have 3 defensemen!  Brandy made some spectacular saves and took a shut out into the 2nd period.  Before the second period, Beak warned Brandy about Hacksaw and Magoo, telling her to watch out for Boris, because he was a DOM (Dirty Old Man) and Magoo was a lawyer.  There was talk before the game, that the Lady Rampage Team wanted to play the Duffers in a charity game.  Brinks came over between periods and

Brinks finally sent me this picture of the Musky that he caught last month

said, "If we play the ladies, Brandy can't play."  (She beat Brinks 3 or 4 times in the first period)  Early in the 2nd period, Hacksaw spoiled her shut out with a re

bound goal.  To cut the Red's 2 goal lead in half.  Stump and V-Man had violated the Brain in the first with assists going to Geno and Beak.  Brinks finally solved the tiny goalie with a pass from Tommy Z, who never took a shot all night and chose to set up the old guys for the second week in a row.  Magoo gave the Whites a 3-2 lead late in the 2nd.  Tom "T&A" Ambrosia made it 4-2 in the 3rd period with a back hand floater.  Stump scored again to get the Reds to within 1, but John "Killer" Koss put the game out of reach with a late flutter blast to give the Whites a 5-3 win in a game that featured great goal tending.  A 4 on 4 game

usually produces at least 20 goals.

4-4 Tie at Wild Wings

Only 8 Duffers showed up at Wild Wings, Beak, the Bookie, Mini Wheezer and Dave the Goalie showed up for the Reds and Killer Koss, T&A, TZ and Formica represented the Whites.

Rich Storm sent this to me and there is a great Thor story that goes with it.  I can't print it, you have to show up.

Happy Birthday!

The following Duffers celebrated birthdays this week. Magoo (62), Thor, (60), and Joe Mazarella Jr. (54) were all born on September 20.  Mini Wheezer turned 40 on September 22.

Only 12 Duffers have Perfect Attendance after 2 weeks

The following Duffers have Perfect Attendance: Beak, Bookie, Brain, Brinks, Fruitcake, Hacksaw, Koss, Magoo, Mini Wheezer, T&A, TZ, and V-Man.  We didn't  slip this low until the first week in October last year.

Mike was in Germany, Frank was Dizzy, Klinger's knee is shot, Thor was golfing in Michigan, Ken and Jeff were racing in Indiana, Special Ed is in Nashville, The Anvil, Tweedy, Terry and Bill BTW were MIA. What ever happened to the Maestro, Harvey, Super Dave TO and Art,

Brinks took a beating in the game when he was roughed up by the Bookie.  All eyes were on Mini Wheezer to see if he would step up and pound the Bookie, but they both wore Red.

The Romeoville Rampage Amateur adult Hockey team is looking for sponsors.  If we just donate half of the money that we saved by going to their cook out last week.  Those free beers saved us 5 bucks each.  The Rampage would like to play us in a charity game, I don't know anybody who would want to pay to see the Duffers play, but I would pay to see Brandy play.

Tweedy named his fantasy hockey team "The Slider Pilots" after he remembered that Thor had a tee shirt with that name.  He asked Mike to put a Rich Storm creation together with Thor as the Slider Pilot.  Mike sent the above picture to me on Monday morning, just before I went to meet Thor, who was doing some work for me at my Mom's house.  What happened that day is one of the funniest locker room stories that you ever will hear, I'm sorry that I can't publish it on this family web site.

The following guys showed up last week for the 4 on 4 game: Beak, Bookie, Brain, Brinks, Dave, Formica, Fruitcake, Geno, Hacksaw, Koss, Magoo, Mini Wheezer, Stump, T&A, TZ, and V-Man.

I didn't have a picture of our star goalie, Brandy, so I put her song as background music of this page and ran this one of the Brain.

Hacksaw is averaging a goal a game this season.

Tommy Z had another assist filled night.

Beak sent V-man a pass that sprung him for a break away goal.

Fred foiled a Koss break Away goal with his call for the puck.

Mr. Magoo scored the game winner

Wayne The Bookie.JPG (182373 bytes)

The Bookie had a fine game protecting Brandy.

We don't have one of T&A who scored another goal, so I put in his fellow team mate.

MRG.jpg (103698 bytes)

Brinks had another goal this week.

DR Evil.jpg (69440 bytes)

Mike has to make one for Koss who scored a goal, so I went with Boris and Mini Wheezer.

Stump scored 2 of the 3 Red Goals

Love_Guru's.jpg (323310 bytes)

We don't have a Stormy of Dave the goalie, so I went with one of my favorites.

Nascar Mini.jpg (710109 bytes)

Mini Wheezer set up one of Stump's goals.

MRClean.jpg (186324 bytes)

Geno had some great opportunities, but the Brain kept his net CLEAN!

We should have one of Vidas Formica, but he lives in Seattle, so I dug out this Ray Raynor look alike.

The Brain had a fine game, but he couldn't stop the Stump's beach ball shots.
