Attendance 26 Report by The Beak

No Meaningful Goals!

The Friday game was packed with talent.  The Whites had 5 Granatos, 2 Dons, 2 Robs and one Steve.  The Reds were in big trouble.  They had too many guys before the game, so they had a chance to ship 2 mediocre players to slow down all of those Granatos.  What did they do?  They sent Bill By the Way and Berserk over and made the Whites even stronger!  The Reds didn't have Tommy Z, but they did pick up Peoria Art, who was able to beat the Anvil once.  Mini Wheezer and Rich Storm also scored for the Reds.  That wouldn't have been enough, because

The Anvil made another Rich Storm appearance.

the Whites were busy peppering Tweedy with shots from all over.  Donny G usually spends the night passing to meaningful Duffers, but he took a rare shot that surprised Tweedy for a goal.  Berserk hit a post that rebounded off of Tweedy's back and into the net.  In addition to all of that fire power, they had a 50 year old Hot Shot named Grant, who scored 2 goals.  His Meaningful status was checked at the bar and he was right around this year's average Duffer age of 50.246.  As we go to press, the Meaningful results of this game is unknown.  If Grant is older than 50.3, whites will be declared the 2-0 winners.  The Whites had 6 total goals, so the Reds had to tell Nick to pull the plug and score 4 goals on his Dad.  Nick hates to score on his Dad, because he has to pay for it all week.  Tweedy had a spectacular night, he is waiting for a call from the Blues.  The Anvil had a great might, if we throw out Nick's goals.
On the Lighter Side: Perry had an outstanding game on Defense.  He threw his body in front of a slap shot and he made Bill BTW laugh so hard on is break away that he flubbed his shot.  (Perry fell on his back when he shifted into reverse)  Super Dave had a Klinger Krash with Klinger.  When Beak asked Klinger who crashed into him, he named 3 or 4 Duffers before he named Super Dave.  Basketball Jones had a big crash with Art, his own team mate.  Koss had a fine game.
Grant went on to help Art and Emil win
the 40+ USA Hockey Adult Classic on Sunday at the Center Ice in Overtime.  Grant had the first goal in the game and also scored the game winner on an assist from Art, who had had three assists in the game, assisting on the goal to tie the game up at 48 seconds remaining in the third period

and also setting up Grant for the game winner in overtime.

Picture day will be on May 19th  Donations will be accepted for St Jude Children's Research Hospital.

St. Louis Blues coach, Donny Granato apologizes to Tweedy for taking a shot.

The following is a letter from Garrett's Mom:
Let me ask a favor of you...as you may remember, Garrett was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease in 2003 and was treated through St Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN and their affiliate in Peoria. In early August there is a run where runners leave Peoria on Tuesday, arrive in Memphis and RUN BACK FROM MEMPHIS beginning Wednesday at noon and arrive in Peoria Saturday at
6:00pm to kick off a telethon. This is the 25th year of that run and Garrett and I are going to do it. In order to do this though, we need to raise at least $5,000 for the hospital. The run is a sponsored event so 100% of the donations go to research and treatment of kids with cancers and other diseases. In addition, the organization is a 501C3, so the donations are deductible, if someone is interested in that.

Please make checks out to: St Jude Children's Research Hospital

Could we request a collection of some sort or something to help us with our fund raising needs? If it's too bold or too much since we're new to the group & not regulars, we understand.

If you are interested in finding out more about the hospital, the site is
www.stjude.org and the run has a site too at www.stjuderuns.org.

Looking forward to seeing you all in a few weeks.

Blessings,
Donna
I will be passing the hat, for this great cause, in the locker room before the game and again in the parking lot after you have had a few beers. You may want to increase you donation if Garrett lets you score, like that time Doc gave Tweedy some investment money then scored a Hat Trick on him.  In addition, you will be able to purchase a CD-ROM with all of the pictures taken that night for $5.00.  CD_ROMs with all of the pictures she took of us in Peoria and last May in Bolingbrook will also be available.   All proceeds will go to St Jude Children's Research Hospital fund.
