The Ghost Shuts out the Reds!

May 2
Bolingbrook, IL
Attendance 22

(Right) With the War winding down, Thor traded  his weapon for a guitar.  He was singing peace, and piece songs at the bar at closing time. He never put his smoke down.

Ever since we had our first "Be Kind to Goalie Week", we have had 2 shut outs in 3 weeks.  Don't look for that kindness stuff to become an annual thing.  We haven't had 2 shut outs in 30 years.  Wingers and centers like it that way.  Two weeks ago, the Brain blanked the Reds, 7-0. This week, the Ghost mystified the Reds with some spectacular saves and extra wide goal posts.  The Anvil made some equally impressive saves for the Reds, but he didn't get much help.  After Beak spoiled his shut out when he crashed the net and converted a pass from Zagnuts, Eddies Luck went from bad to worse.  One of The Anvil's young defensemen took a puck away from Hacksaw and ripped it over Eddie's shoulder and into the top corner of the net.  Since he took the puck away from an over 60 player, that gave the Whites an insurmountable 2-0

Meaningful lead.  Tommy and Miller Lite scored a couple of Meaningless goals to complete the 6-0 shut out.  With Klinger and Buck shot sailing his new clipper around the Bermuda Triangle last week there were no Klinger Krashes.  You have only one more week to complete your  award winning Krash.
Picnic Duties are listed on page 2

Stump Returns the Klinger Krash Award to Beak at the
Duffer Picnic Committee meeting on the Beak Deck.

On Friday night, Hacksaw asked Beak how many sausages were needed for the picnic meeting.  Beak replied, "so far it is me and you.  Frank is celebrating his wedding anniversary, Stump was AWOL, Harvey was all booked up and the King was noncommittal."  Fortunately Mr. Clean brought a big sack of monstrous sausages, because the party went from 2-10 in a hurry.  Dill Deau, pulled up, then Stump showed up with the Klinger Krash award, Beak Jr., Sanchez the Brain and Jennifer soon joined the festivities.  The Brain asked Beak to pull out his 8 inch Celestron as Jupiter, Mars and a fairly new moon were showing their faces.  It occurred to us that The Brain got his shut out on a Full Moon night and the Ghost achieved his several hours after a New Moon!

Dill Deau was removed from the Duffer Wanted-MIA list, when he showed up for the Picnic Meeting.

A Big thank you to Hacksaw for providing the delicious,
humongous Bobak Sausages for the Picnic Meeting.
