Great Party!

Romeoville, IL 12/28/2008
Attendance 20

Poor Attendance Poor Game!

We only had 18 skaters who could make it to the rink only 4 days after Christmas.  Stump had to strap on the goalie pads for the second straight week.  The game soon disintegrated into a meaningless struggle that was marred by injuries.  Basketball Jones took a wicked shot in the leg that sent him limping off of the ice.  Special Ed got knocked silly, when Bill By the Way's shoulder caught him in the jaw and knocked him silly and we had a stop in play.  SpEd should have called it a night after that, but he

played until he crashed the post and twisted his knee and the last 5 minutes ticked off while he was helped to the locker room.  After a couple of beers, he decided he was in no condition to drive, so He called his love, Ami and she drove him to Buffalo Wild Wings.  The game had another scary moment when Tommy Z was trying to out run Rich Storm on a break away.  He managed to fire the puck past the Brain just as Rich Storm slammed into him and the net was filled with a puck, a goalie, a forward and a defenseman.  The Whites had 6 meaningless goals while the Reds could only get 3.  ( Mini Wheezer, TZ and the Maestro).  Art had 4 for the Whites, that were disallowed at the bar for overachievement, so the final  Meaningless score was Reds 3, Whites 2.
New Year's Day
We had a good turn out for our 11:00 A.M. game.  The Reds had 3 full lines and 4 defensemen and the Whites had one less.  The lead changed hands several times.  Tweedy was scored on by his cousin Jay, as the Whites jumped off to an early lead.  Back hand Johnny added another before the Reds could dent the Brain.  Mini Wheezer, The Bookie and TZ gave the Reds a brief lead, but Brinks converted a pass from Robbie for the only Meaningful goal of the game.  Art and his Son, AJ, gave the Reds the lead again, but Robbie and Donny JR went to work with a passing display that had Tweedy dizzy.  The game ended in a 7-7 tie.  I'm sure a few Duffers had a few 7-7s on new Year's Eve.  Beak's grandson Mike had a clean break away, but he gave it up with when he made a pass to Hacksaw, just as he was taught when he was in grade school.  You want to be a Duffer, you have to pass to the Meaningful Duffers.

Phoenix Uncle Bob has set us up for 3 games in 4 days.  Some golfers are planning to shoot a few rounds and Baseball fans are looking at the spring training schedules.

The start of a great week.
